Brainstorming on blogs...? - an experiment...

Can it be done? Hit comments and write down any ideas you have on activities you could do on a blog for EFL... Publish after every couple of ideas and read what the others are saying... Add your ideas however similar they are to the others.

One student writes the first paragraph of a story and the others continue it.

developing characters in a story being written by the class

You can do whatever, everything.
What about grammar presentations?

How much time would it take?

Isn't there a delay between writing and posting your ideas?

Additions and alterations could be made to the initial ideas.

use as a vocab or grammar book

You can use blogs for sts to give their opinions on something ( after giving them prompts on what to comment about)
instead of creating projects on paper have them in blogs (islands/planets/block of flats)
interviews
agony aunts/uncles

Role-plays- students wrting dialogues - each student different character.

Communication gap: one student has some information and the others have to try to find this information by asking questions. In the blog all the students can see the answers to all the questions.

It hardly takes any time between writing and publishing. It's all at a click of the button.

I'm hungry, too

any work that requires writing opinios - nb Carol's ession on 'opinion's' - this way you are open to genuine feedback, but also makes sts think about making their views sound more acceptable by knowing they have an audience...
